“The business urged to abandon the universal installation of smart meters for electricity metering in homes.

According to the law, from July 1, 2020, all electricity suppliers must replace failed devices in apartment buildings at their own expense, ”the statement says.

It is noted that from January 1, 2022, it will be possible to install only an "intelligent" metering device.

"According to preliminary estimates, in the next 16 years it is necessary to install 45 million new meters, which will require from 630 billion to 1.1 trillion rubles," the text says.

According to the Association's proposals, it is necessary to use the following rule: if you change the appliances in the house, then either everything is "smart", or completely abandon expensive equipment.

“The law provides for spot replacement of devices.

But it does not bring any significant advantages for the energy system as a whole.

An integrated approach can be made a possible option for choosing a constituent entity of Russia, ”the association said.

Earlier, Svetlana Razorotneva, executive director of NP Housing and Utilities Control, in an interview with NSN, commented on the entry into force in Russia of the new rules for checking meters.
