Jair Bolsonaro has joined the ranks of the Liberal Party in the hope of finding new momentum ahead of the presidential campaign.

Officially without a label, since he broke with the small Social-Liberal Party, Jair Bolsonaro had tried to create his own far-right party, the Alliance for Brazil.

But he hadn't received enough support to do so.

His choice fell on this formation of the traditional right, which has participated in all governments for thirty years, even if he has always presented himself as an anti-

establishment

president

Winning the sympathies of the anti-Lula

Another contradiction: the president of the Liberal Party, Valdemar de Costa Neto, has served two years of a 7-year prison sentence for corruption, while Jair Bolsonaro presents himself as an anti-corruption president.

Polls credit him with less than 30% of voting intentions.

But in the hope of securing a second term, he hopes to win the sympathies of a conservative and anti-Lula electorate.

The former president of the left, him, continue to prance at the head of the polls.
