The rugby club of Béziers (Hérault) has a new president: it will now be led by the former number 1 of the Toulouse stadium, René Bouscatel, announced Tuesday the formation evolving in Pro D2, thus putting an end to the project carried by the former international Christophe Dominici.

“The presidents Pierre-Olivier Valaize, Cédric Bistué and the majority of the shareholders have therefore just accepted a real, Biterrois, concrete and realistic project carried out by Louis-Pierre Angelotti [the main shareholder], who called on Mr. René Bouscatel whose experience and expertise cannot be disputed, ”notes the ASBH, the Béziers rugby club, in a press release.

Christophe Dominici must explain this Tuesday evening

This announcement therefore puts an end to the ambitions of Christophe Dominici, who had, with UAE investors, brought a project to buy the club to the 11 titles of champion of France. "Contrary to numerous media statements, to date, no credible information has been communicated to the lawyer for SASP Béziers Rugby," added the ASBH. Contacted by AFP, the ex-international winger said he would organize a press conference at 8 pm, at the Raoul-Barrière stadium, in Béziers, "in front of the statue of Armand Vaquerin", the old pillar legendary club Hérault.

René Bouscatel, 74, was the president of the Toulouse stadium between 1992 and 2017, a period during which the Rouge et Noir raised the Brennus nine times (1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2008, 2011, 2012 ) and won the European Cup three times (2003, 2005, 2010).
