This Monday, November 1 was to be marked by the entry into force of a technical platform making it possible to block reports from the police on driving assistance assistants such as Waze or Coyote.

This measure, initiated by the Ministry of the Interior, however remains in abeyance because the platform is not yet ready, reveals

Le Parisien

.

“We, as an operator, are ready.

(...) It is on the side of the Ministry of the Interior that things get stuck.

We still haven't received their share of the technical specifications.

We were supposed to have a meeting at the end of September but it was canceled.

So for now everything is at a standstill

», Says Fabien Pierlot, CEO of Coyote.

No new date has been communicated

Since then, no new date has been communicated for the deployment of this measure.

The problem explaining the delay would be technical, indicates for its part the ministry.

The measure was to concern certain interventions by the police on departmental and municipal roads.

This device would only concern blood alcohol tests, over a period of two hours, as well as important events, such as a kidnapping or an attack, for a period of twelve hours.

If the applications concerned do not comply with this regulation, they could be fined 30,000 euros and two years in prison.
