At a poultry farm in Daisen City, Akita Prefecture, it was reported that the number of dead chickens is increasing, and as a result of genetic testing of chickens at this poultry farm, the highly pathogenic "H5 type" avian influenza virus was reported. Was detected.

The prefecture has decided to dispose of all 400 chickens raised in this poultry farm.

According to Akita Prefecture, I was informed that the number of dead chickens is increasing from the poultry farm in Daisen City on the afternoon of the 18th.

Since a simple test in the prefecture gave a positive reaction, a detailed genetic test revealed that the highly pathogenic "H5 type" avian influenza virus was detected on the morning of the 19th.

In response to this, the prefecture has decided to dispose of all 400 chickens raised in this poultry farm to prevent the spread of the infection.

Furthermore, the area within a radius of 3 km of the poultry farm has been designated as a "restricted movement area" that prohibits the movement of chickens and eggs from the poultry farm, and the area within a radius of 10 km has been designated as a "restricted export area" that prohibits shipping from that area. However, according to the prefecture, there are no poultry farms in the restricted area.

In addition, the prefecture will hold a countermeasures headquarters meeting at the prefectural office on the 19th to confirm future measures.

In Akita Prefecture, a highly pathogenic "H5N8 type" avian influenza virus was confirmed at a poultry farm in Yokote City last November.
