In response, the prefecture began disposing of all approximately 11,000 chickens raised in the poultry farm around 11:30 am to prevent the spread of the infection.



This is the second case of bird flu confirmed at a poultry farm in Kagoshima prefecture this season, and the third case confirmed in Japan.



The Kagoshima Prefectural Livestock Division says, "The virus is definitely invading the prefecture, and it is safe to have it anywhere at any time. I want each poultry farm to take thorough measures to prevent the spread of the infection."
