Biden calls for masks to be placed indoors

US President Joe Biden urged his country's citizens to wear masks indoors and in public places, while his administration prepares for the emergence of the new mutant of the Corona virus (Omicron) in the country.

Biden said: "Sooner or later we will see cases of the new mutation here in the United States. Please wear your masks when you are indoors and in public places where there are other people around you."

Biden said in a speech at the White House: “There is no need to panic about the spread of the new mutant Omicron,” stressing that he does not expect at this stage to impose new restrictions on international flights or quarantine procedures in the United States.

Biden called on Americans to be vaccinated and receive their booster doses.
