Athens (AP) - The basketball players of FC Bayern Munich have received another defeat in the Euroleague.

After the 81:89 in the previous week against CSKA Moscow, Andrea Trinchieri's team was also defeated by the traditional Greek team Panathinaikos Athens with 76:83 (35:44).

The best Munich thrower on Friday evening was Vladimir Lucic with 20 points, while Nemanja Nedovic scored the most in a balanced Athens team (17).

Despite two defeats in a row, Bayern remain on the playoff course with a record of 7-4 wins in the highest European competition.

So far, no Bundesliga team in the Euroleague has made it into the round of the last eight.

The Munich team who traveled to Athens without captain Nihad Djedovic (adductor problems) initially found no offensive rhythm against defensively strong Greeks.

Only two out of ten throws from the field landed in the basket in the first quarter.

After a 0: 8 run at the start of the second section, Bayern were already 13 points behind (13:26), but subsequently got into the game better and reduced the deficit to nine points by the half-time break (35:44) .

After the change of sides, a more balanced game developed, but the Bundesliga side couldn't get closer than two points against the four-time Euroleague champion.
