Baniyas club entered into serious negotiations with Moroccan Wydad to sign striker Ayoub Al Kaabi, during the current summer transfer market, to support the offensive line with a foreign player, after the player brilliance with his team this season, and won the title of top scorer in the Moroccan league with 18 goals, two goals ahead of Moroccan Raja striker, newly joined to Sharjah, Congolese Ben Malango.

The Moroccan website "Sport 7" stated that "Bani Yas Club made a huge financial offer to contract with Ayoub Al Kaabi, to address the weakness of the team at the level of the offensive line, especially since it does not have any foreign striker."

The Moroccan sports administration, Wydad, headed by Saeed Nasiri, postponed the discussion of all the offers that it recently received regarding Al Kaabi, until the end of the Throne Cup competition, to maintain the players' focus, before meeting Morocco Tetouan in the semi-finals.

The website quoted Al-Kaabi's statements on the sidelines of the celebrations of crowning the 21st title in the club's history in the Moroccan League, in which he said that he was not happy, despite scoring 18 goals, explaining that he aspired to score more than that as an explicit striker.

Al-Kaabi explained that "carrying the Wydad sports shirt puts pressure on any attacker, regardless of his size," given that the Wydad fans always demand the attacker to register.

The player stressed that he does not yet know his future with Wydad, whether to stay or leave the UAE League, stressing that his team does not stand on any player, whatever his name or level.
