Büsum (dpa) - The resort of Büsum (Dithmarschen district) starts on Monday as the fourth model tourism region in Schleswig-Holstein.

Holiday trips to Büsum itself as well as to the neighboring communities of Westerdeichstrich and Büsumer Deichhausen are then again possible under strict conditions.

Büsum is the last of a total of four model regions in Schleswig-Holstein to be launched.

The Schleiregion and Eckernförde were the first to slowly ramp up tourism on April 19.

On May 1st, the district of North Friesland followed with its islands and Halligen.

And the inner Bay of Lübeck with the towns of Timmendorfer Strand, Scharbeutz, Sierksdorf and Neustadt has been welcoming overnight guests again since Saturday.

Strict conditions apply in all model regions.

From May 17th, Schleswig-Holstein is also planning further opening steps in tourism and gastronomy.

The prerequisite for this is a stable infection situation.
