“With the permission of the Central Bank of Russia, if Russian banks outside of US sanctions accept the Turkish Troy payment system, or if they open an account with Turkish banks operating in Russia and receive a card integrated with Troy, Russian tourists can make purchases with these cards in our country,” the article says.
It is noted that the system and transactions are under the direct control of Turkey, so it will not be easy for the US to find a reason to intervene.
Earlier, the Turkish bank İş Bankası suspended the use of the Russian payment system due to the threat of sanctions.
The Federal Tourism Agency reported that possible ways to solve the problem of using cards of the Russian payment system MIR in Turkey are being worked out.
