Attack near Tel Aviv: 5 Israelis killed and 11 wounded in a stabbing attack

5 Israelis were killed and 11 others were wounded in an armed attack in the city of Elad, east of Tel Aviv, Thursday evening.

The Magen David Adom, the medical aid organization in Israel, said that some of the injured on the Emirates Today website are in critical condition.

According to the Israeli police, the attack was carried out by two people, one of whom used a firearm and the other an axe.

The police deployed roadblocks at all entrances to the city of Elad in search of the perpetrators of the attack, and also used a helicopter to search for a vehicle they suspect the perpetrators used to escape.

Other sources said that the perpetrator of the stabbing attack was shot, seriously wounding him.

It is noteworthy that the city of Elad is close to the Green Line, where the Israeli security forces fear that the two perpetrators will flee to the West Bank.

The attack coincided with Israel's celebrations of its founding anniversary, and it also comes after a series of similar attacks in Israel in recent weeks, by Palestinians or Israeli Arabs.
