Yesterday, Sunday, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune arrived in Turkey for a 3-day working visit, in response to an invitation from his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
A statement by the Algerian presidency stated that Tebboune will hold talks with the President of the Republic of Turkey "focusing on bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to support and strengthen them in a way that contributes to achieving the interests of the two brotherly peoples, in addition to regional and international issues of common interest."
The Turkish presidency stated that Erdogan and Tebboune will chair, on Monday, the first meeting of the High-level Cooperation Council between the two countries.
President Tebboune's visit to Turkey would once again reinforce bilateral cooperation backed by a treaty of friendship and cooperation since 2006, in addition to strengthening the existing partnership between the two countries, and continuing political consultation on regional and international issues.
The visit also comes after a series of visits and meetings held by high-level officials of the two countries, especially since the working and friendship visit made by the Turkish President to Algeria on January 26 and 27, 2020, immediately after Tebboune was elected President of the Republic.
