Berlin (dpa) - The basketball players from Syntainics MBC have continued their negative series.

The Weißenfelser lost their guest appearance at Alba Berlin on Sunday with 82:93 (38:45).

Despite the fifth defeat in a row, there is still a cushion of six points on the relegation zone.

Niels Giffey, Simone Fontecchio (17 each), Johannes Thiemann (16) and Marcus Eriksson (15) had the largest share in the success of the albatrosses, which climbed to second place.

Michal Michalak (18), Roko Rogic (17), Sergio Kerusch and Quinton Hooker (16 each) scored the most points for the Central Germans.

The outsider was only able to defy the Berliners at times in the first two quarters.

After the 7: 7 (3rd) Alba pulled away with a 12-0 run to 19: 7 (6th), but the Weißenfelser fought their way up to seven points until the break.

In the second half, however, the guests were initially overwhelmed in defense and were unable to stop the Berliners' speed game in the third quarter.

After the 79:59 (31st minute), the hosts took it a little easier, so that the MBC could make the result a little friendlier.
