After the coup, the Myanmar military agreed with ASEAN to implement an immediate cessation of violence, etc., but no progress was seen, and in July this year, four people, including democratic activists, who had been asked to stop by ASEAN, were sentenced to death. As a result, at the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting in August this year, a joint statement was issued urging the military to improve the situation.
