Oldenburg (dpa / lni) - As of today, the Oldenburg Regional Court is reviewing the conviction of a fraudster who is said to have sold counterfeit gold bars and gold coins over the Internet.

The Jever district court sentenced the man to three years in prison in November 2019.

118,000 euros of illegally acquired assets were confiscated.

The defendant denied that he misled his buyers.

He appealed the judgment so that the regional court has to reopen the case (13 Ns 81/20).

In the meantime, the defendant is said to have again offered fake gold for sale on Ebay.

Therefore, an arrest warrant was issued.

The man initially went into hiding, but turned himself in to Oldenburg in January and is now in custody.
