The federal government has withdrawn an Arabic-language advertising video for corona vaccinations because an obviously anti-Israel doctor spoke in it.
The Berlin family doctor had expressed views on social media with which the federal government “definitely does not want to be connected”, said government spokesman Steffen Seibert on Wednesday in Berlin.
The government only became aware of the doctor's statements through inquiries from journalists.
Seibert regretted that the federal government did not find out about the doctor's views before the advertising video was published.
"We'll be reviewing our work flow and making sure it doesn't happen again," he added.
The federal government had the Arabic-speaking doctor advertise corona vaccinations in the video in order to "bring the information to as many people as possible," said Seibert.
She will continue her advertising campaign in Arabic - but not with this video.
According to information from the picture, the Berlin doctor Najeeb Al Saidi had spread anti-Israeli posts on Facebook. Accordingly, there are entries on his Facebook profile calling for the expulsion of Jews from the Middle East. He also distributed propaganda photos of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed arm of the Hamas terrorist group.
