The rescue service was alerted to the scene at 23:20 on Saturday night after a person on the spot noticed that there was a fire in the apartment building.
It is unclear how the fire originated, but the man was alone in the apartment and now the police have begun a preliminary investigation into general negligence.
The man is said to have sustained burns, but how seriously injured he was is unknown to police and rescue services.
The rescue service was able to extinguish the fire with a powder extinguisher and left the scene at midnight.
