More than 400 businesses in Annecy have hung on their windows a poster "For sale" with the number not of an agency but of the Elysée.

Traders thus hope to warn of the endangerment of their closed businesses during the reconfinement.

"We wanted to take a peaceful action and in compliance with sanitary instructions and which pushes people to wonder," said Friday Karine Zerbola, representative of bistros and cafetiers in Annecy at the National Group of Independents (GNI).

Suffer, but not die

This initiative, initiated with the association "Les vitrines d'Annecy", which brings together "non-essential" local shops, has been very popular since its launch on Thursday, assured the union official.

"We are for confinement but an effective one that allows the fight against the Covid.

We want to suffer economically for the general interest but not die because of half-measures ”, underlined Karine Zerbola.

"Our city centers will die"

The objective was to challenge the inhabitants: "tomorrow, if we continue to have unequal measures in the economic sectors, our city centers will die, there will be no more local shops".

“Mr. Macron had said that the lessons of globalization would be learned and that local trade would be privileged but at the 2nd confinement, it's the opposite!

», Regretted Karine Zerbola, while denouncing the difficulties of accessing the announced government aid.
