An Emirati delegation discusses cooperation in the fields of clean energy in Germany

A delegation from the UAE, headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, Eng. Sherif Al Olama, will start a visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, on Tuesday, to discuss ways to enhance opportunities for joint cooperation in the field of energy, especially clean energy and hydrogen, and to explore promising investment opportunities in those fields. Vital fields, within the framework of completing the “declaration of intent” in the energy fields between the two countries, which the two sides signed at the beginning of 2017.


The delegation includes a number of specialists from the ministry, and representatives of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company "ADNOC" and the Masdar Company.


During the visit, promising partnerships in the energy field will be concluded, to continue efforts and ensure the sustainability of the sector, enhance partnership in the field of hydrogen, and bring about real change that meets the aspirations of the two countries in climate action, as well as a field tour of a number of energy projects and a group of companies in that sector.


The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, Eng. Sherif Al-Olama, said that the visit aims to establish sustainable cooperation mechanisms between the two countries, with the aim of maximizing the benefit of the joint cooperation agreements signed by the two countries during the previous years.


He stressed that the visit will include introducing the benefits and services offered by the agreement to international companies in the energy sector in the two countries, and the opportunities to build new and sustainable partnerships and how to make optimal use of them.


He added that the country's delegation will meet with a number of senior government officials and representatives of the private sector in Germany to hold extensive meetings to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation in the energy and hydrogen sector.


It is noteworthy that the UAE and the Federal Republic of Germany launched the UAE-German Energy Partnership in 2017, to promote dialogue and provide a framework for cooperation in the energy transition.
