Dubai Economy and Zoho International Technology Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding, aiming to make technology available and affordable for all companies operating in the Emirate of Dubai, and to assist them in their journey of digital transformation.

A statement issued yesterday confirmed that the signing of the memorandum is a step in support of the emirate's position as a pioneer in the field of digitization and a global model in leading a competitive knowledge economy, as targeted by the National Agenda 2021.

The memorandum of understanding was signed by the Executive Director of the Commercial Registration and Licensing Sector in Dubai Economy.

Omar Bushehab, and the regional director for the Middle East and Africa for "Zoho Corp", Ali Shabdar.

Standardized group

Under the agreement, local companies registered with Dubai Economy can subscribe to "Zoho One", which is a unified group based on cloud storage that includes more than 45 applications linking various functional services in companies smoothly and for free for the first year, as most of the companies that have Outdated software, or working with multiple cloud applications, suffers from multiple data warehouses, contracts with multiple providers, integration problems, and increased costs.

Using Zoho One also enables companies to manage sales, marketing, productivity, human resources management, financial management, and other functions through a single platform, thus reducing the entry barrier that many start-ups, small and medium-sized companies face when adopting enterprise technology.

Cloud applications also enable companies to work from anywhere, and take advantage of technologies such as artificial intelligence to accelerate their growth.

Digital transformation

The Executive Director of the Commercial Registration and Licensing Sector at Dubai Economy, Omar Bushehab, confirmed that the cooperation with Zoho comes within the framework of the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, which strengthens the position of the Emirate of Dubai at the forefront. Digital transformation in the region, as Dubai embraces the largest global technology companies and developers of technology and smart solutions, as well as implementing projects and initiatives that confirm its leadership in this field.

He said that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's digital vision is a solid ground for promoting the digital industry sector and applications in the country in general, and the Emirate of Dubai in particular.

Bushehab pointed out that the signing of the agreement with "Zoho" would provide solutions that facilitate procedures, time, effort and money, which would achieve the happiness and satisfaction of the business community in the emirate and enhance its competitiveness, pointing out that the adoption and application of digital smart solutions has become a basic pillar for all Development processes within various sectors, with the value-added services these solutions add, within an innovative environment that seeks to invest future technologies in achieving the well-being and prosperity of societies by providing digital smart solutions.

For his part, CEO and founding partner of Zoho Corp., Sridhar Vimbo, said: “We are excited to cooperate with Dubai Economy in its efforts to promote Dubai’s digital future,” stressing that Zoho believes that comprehensive economic development stems from an interconnected network of Certified apps, and we are always committed to supporting local economies in their growth journey.

He explained that the presence of the regional headquarters for the Middle East and Africa of the company in the Emirate of Dubai and the growing network of partners in the country, allows better service of customers.

He added: “Companies can manage their business electronically from one place through the use of (Zoho One),” pointing out that all applications work together seamlessly, which allows for better business flow management.
