A resident of the Comédie-Française will be tried on December 1 for “violence against a spouse” and “death threats”, following accusations of an ex-girlfriend he disputes, AFP learned on Friday corroborating sources.

On her Facebook page and in a series of tweets, Marie Coquille-Chambel, who hosts a YouTube channel on the theater, claimed on June 29 to have lodged a complaint after having been violently beaten three times by this actor that she had not not named and who, according to her, also threatened her with death.

The Paris prosecutor's office has opened an investigation

"I believe that omerta is no longer possible in the theater and I refuse that another can suffer such violence from a man, regardless of his influence and his notoriety", had indicated Marie Coquille- Chambel.

At the time when the affair was mentioned in the press, the Comédie-Française said it was "deeply shocked" by these facts "attributed to one of its employees", and affirmed that it would take "all the measures that are required ”.

After this complaint, the Paris prosecutor's office opened a preliminary investigation in early July for "willful violence by ex-spouse or ex-partner".

At the end of this investigation, "a comedian of the Comédie-Française" will be tried on December 1 before the criminal court for "violence by spouse" and "death threats", AFP learned Friday from the Paris prosecutor's office. .

A complaint filed for harassment

Me Florence Bourg told AFP that her client, Nâzim Boudjenah, "approached this hearing with great serenity".

"He will finally be able to speak out, after months of false denunciation on social networks, on these accusations which have had serious professional and personal repercussions," she added.

For her, "this is an exemplary case of the destruction of the career of a respected and respectable actor", resident of the "French" since 2010, and who notably played under the orders of Patrice Chéreau, Olivier Py, Isabelle Nanty or again Denis Podalydès.

Nâzim Boudjenah has, according to his counsel, already filed a complaint against Marie Coquille-Chambel for "harassment" and "will initiate proceedings in slanderous denunciation".

Neither Marie Coquille-Chambel nor her lawyer, Me Agnès Tricoire, could be reached by AFP.
