Do you have room on one of your walls for a 20 x 33 cm drawing?
If so, all you have to do is have more or less 30 million euros!
Why such a price for a drawing on an A4 sheet?
Because it is the work of Michelangelo.
This
Naked Man (after Masaccio), Two Figures Behind Him
is the first known nude by the Renaissance artist.
It is a drawing from his youth, dating from the 1490s, when he copied works by artists from antiquity or from the recent Florentine tradition, in particular the frescoes executed by the painter Masaccio (1401- 1428) at the Church of Santa Maria del Carmine in Florence.
If you cannot bid for this drawing during the auction at Christie's Paris, this Wednesday, you can admire Michelangelo's work for free, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Christie's, 9, rue de Matignon in the 9th arrondissement.
