Probably the most famous German naturopath, Sebastian Kneipp, shows the way not only to a healthy life.

In Bad Vilbel, it should now also guide passers-by safely via one of the city's main traffic arteries.

If you have to wait at the pedestrian traffic light on Kasseler Straße near the entrance to Dieselstraße at Rot, you will look at the portrait of the standing “water doctor” - with a jug in hand, of course.

If the traffic light turns green after pressing a button, the silhouette of the pastor and therapist gives the sign to cross the lane with a long step.

Now, after Bad Nauheim, Bad Vilbel also has a Kneipp traffic light.

If the traffic light system in Bad Nauheim has a direct reference because it is only a few steps away from the health garden with Kneipp elements, there was no such place in Bad Vilbel.

Mayor Thomas Stöhr (CDU) is convinced that the Ampelmännchen also receive due attention in Bad Vilbel.

Because it is a much-used traffic light at a frequently frequented location, the main route from the train station towards the city center.

Thermal baths with a diverse pool landscape

After Bad Nauheim and Bad Vilbel, there will soon be more traffic light men with the silhouette of Sebastian Kneipp in the Wetterau, namely in the spa town of Bad Salzhausen. Corresponding plans are on the table, announced the mayor of Nidda, Hans-Peter Seum (independent), whose town the seaside resort in the east of the Wetterau belongs to. Which is not by chance, because Bad Nauheim, Bad Vilbel and Bad Salzhausen have teamed up to jointly offer even more offers to the growing number of so-called health tourists. The focus should be on the teachings of Sebastian Kneipp, which are currently in demand with many people. The three places with the label Bad operate as the “Kneipp bath triangle”.

They hope that this will give them the prospect of developing themselves further as a destination for prevention, rehabilitation and well-being with this specification. This is especially true for Bad Nauheim, where there are already a number of wellness and Kneipp offers. With the new thermal bath, there is more for the health-conscious, and the city is striving to be certified as a Kneipp spa. Bad Vilbel is also getting a thermal bath with a diverse pool landscape, which can also be prepared for wellness and water therapies. In addition, the city administration is planning to establish a health garden with Kneipp elements in the castle park. And Bad Salzhausen already has a thermal bath with many regular guests and offers a range of prevention offers.

Two of the largest Hessian Kneipp clubs that are located in the Wetterau are also involved in the project. In addition, the district acts as a coordinator and source of ideas, because the aim is to involve other cities and communities, their associations and initiatives with facilities and offers based on the teachings of Kneipp. In the next few years, a network is to be created in which, among other things, doctors, physiotherapists and restaurateurs who treat according to Kneipp methods, offer accommodation in so-called Kneipp houses with appropriately trained staff. One of the main building blocks is a Kneipp route through the Wetterau, the course of which has not yet been determined in detail. In any case, it will lead you through Bad Nauheim, Bad Salzhausen and Bad Vilbel.
