Today, US President Donald Trump will visit Michigan and Wisconsin as part of his election campaign, before moving it to Western states in order to rectify his delay in opinion polls in favor of his rival, Democratic candidate Joe Biden.
On the other hand, former US President Barack Obama will participate for the first time next Wednesday in an election rally to support Biden.
Days after Trump recovered from the Corona virus, and only two and a half weeks before the start of the elections, the Republican candidate is organizing rallies across the country in an attempt to secure the states he won 4 years ago.
Trump won Michigan and Wisconsin in the 2016 elections, but opinion polls show Biden, the former Vice President, ahead of him in those states this year.
Trump's advisers see these two states, and Pennsylvania, key to his chances of winning yet another election.
Trump is also taking a defensive stance in traditional Republican strongholds, including Arizona, where he intends to campaign in next Monday, and Georgia, where he conducted his election campaign Friday evening.
Swinging states
In a related context, an opinion poll - conducted by the US site "The Hill" in partnership with the "Harris" Foundation - showed that the Democratic candidate for the presidential elections is in progress in a number of swing states.
By swing states, we mean states that do not show a political majority for Republicans or Democrats, which makes their positions change from one presidential election to another. Therefore, candidates' campaigns are turning to those states to try to win them over and win the votes of their electors in the elections.
Among these states are Pennsylvania and Michigan, as the aforementioned poll revealed Biden's lead over his rival Trump in both of them, while the two candidates obtained equal votes in Florida.
According to the poll, Biden advanced in Michigan, which Trump narrowly won in 2016.
In Pennsylvania, Biden has so far garnered 51% of the state’s total vote in the early vote, compared to 46% for Trump.
The poll indicated that 81% of Trump supporters in Florida say they will vote for him, while 58% of Biden supporters in the state say they will vote for him.
At the national level, opinion polls indicate that Biden is 10 points ahead of Trump, but his lead in some major states is slight, according to the polls themselves.
Supporting Obama
On the other hand, the Biden campaign team announced that former President Obama will travel on November 21 to Philadelphia to campaign for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, the vice presidential candidate.
Philadelphia is one of the most important states in the presidential election, and Trump won it by a narrow margin in 2016.

Barack Obama, who enjoys wide popularity among Democratic voters, announced his support for Joe Biden last April, considering that he is able to lead Americans "during one of our darkest times" - as he put it - during a severe crisis in the country due to the emerging Corona virus.
The former president also helped raise funds for the Biden campaign in June.
The electoral debate
On the level of the electoral debate between the candidates, Trump attacked the health care programs behind the Democratic Party and described them as socialist programs, and said that the Democrats ’proposals for health care reform in the United States would deprive 180 million Americans of health insurance.
On the other hand, the Democratic candidate accused Trump of lying to the American people about the Corona pandemic, and Biden added that Trump's reluctance to tell the truth and neglect of the crisis with the start of the Corona virus outbreak caused a large number of deaths.
It is noteworthy that the second presidential debate between Trump and Biden is scheduled for October 22 in Nashville, Tennessee.
