The Yanomami tribe, the largest indigenous community in the Amazon rainforest, attended the UN Human Rights Council to criticize the Brazilian government's countermeasures against coronavirus and appealed for international support.

They claim that the Brazilian government is encouraging illegal mining in the native lands of the Amazon rainforest, threatening the survival of the indigenous people and not sending medical staff.

It is estimated that 27,000 people live in an area of ​​9.7 million hectares in the provinces of Amazonas and Horima in northern Brazil.According to an indigenous group, 709 people have died of Corona 19 so far.
