The Algerian national team issued a strong warning to its rivals in the Arab Football Cup, by beating its Sudanese counterpart 4-0 yesterday in the first group D competition at Ahmed Ben Ali Stadium.

Al-Sadd striker Baghdad Bounedjah (11 and 37), Qatar SC player Jamal bin Al-Omari (43), and Saudi Damak striker Hilal Al-Arabi Sudani (46) alternately scored the quartet.

On the other hand, the Egyptian team won its first victory, against its Lebanese counterpart, which is heavy with absences, with a clean goal at Al Thumama Stadium.

Egypt's goal was scored by Al-Ahly player Mohamed Magdy (Afsha) in the 71st minute from a penalty kick.

With this victory, the Algerians top Group D with three points, with a goal difference from Egypt.

This is the 34th match for the Algerian team without a loss, while the Sudanese were unable to win in the last seven matches and did not score in the last three matches.
