Alec Baldwin thinks he has a solution to prevent the drama of the filming of
Rust
from happening again: the actor wants a police officer to be present on the set of every film who handles firearms, to supervise their use.
In any case, this is what he claimed in a post on Twitter and Instagram.
"Every movie or television set that uses weapons, dummy or not, should have a police officer on set, hired by the production, to specifically monitor the safety of the weapons," he posted, almost three times. weeks after the tragedy that mourned the filming of the western, in New Mexico.

When he fired the pistol that accidentally killed Halyna Hutchins on October 21, Alec Baldwin thought it was “cold”, a term used on movie sets to describe a “harmless” weapon, so no loaded, or loaded with blank balls. As he was rehearsing the scene, the blow went off, shooting the cinematographer down. Two of those responsible for the guns, gunsmith Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, and assistant director Dave Halls, were implicit in the incident. But the police investigation, rather discreet, has for the moment in no way given a lead on the thesis favored by the authorities. The lawyer for the gunsmith, for his part, suggested that intentional sabotage could be the cause of this fatal accident.
It remains to be seen whether the presence of a police officer could have changed anything that looks like human error anyway.
