On October 21, photographer Halyna Hutchins was killed on the set of "Rust", victim of a fatal gunshot from actor Alec Baldwin.

The prosecutor's office in Santa Fe, New Mexico, announced that four people, including the star, could be charged.

Alec Baldwin assures him that he did not pull the trigger.

Alec Baldwin is far from out of the woods.

Eleven months after cinematographer Halyna Hutchins died on the set of the western

Rust

, the prosecutor's office in Santa Fe, New Mexico, announced that four people, including the star, could be charged in the case if she believes that criminal charges are warranted.

Alec Baldwin says he didn't pull the trigger

"One of the possible defendants is the famous actor Alec Baldwin", can we read in a document written by the prosecutor and quoted by the

New York Times

.

Alec Baldwin was holding a revolver when the fatal shot went off during a rehearsal, the gun not actually being loaded with a blank.

The 64-year-old star claims he didn't pull the trigger and was unaware of the presence of live ammunition on set.

But, an FBI investigation went against his statements, saying that the actor had indeed caused the fatal shot by pressing the trigger of the revolver.

A damning FBI report

According to this report, unveiled by the American chain ABC, a "functional" revolver "cannot be fired without pulling the trigger", unless the hammer (the mechanical part that ignites the powder in the guns old fire or which is used to strike the primer of the cartridge in more modern weapons) has been "struck directly".

Alec Baldwin's attorney reacted in a statement to the recent statement by the Santa Fe office prosecutor. He insists that no decision has been made at this time: "I have been told that "It was too early to discuss this case, because they have not yet reviewed the file or considered the charges. We must give the prosecutor's office time, without drawing the wrong conclusions."
