Al-Hashemi is considered one of the most prominent Iraqi political and security analysts, and he has many articles in Iraqi research centers, and he is one of the most prominent Iraqi personalities present on social media platforms and has many followers, and he is considered one of the influencers in the course of Iraqi public opinion.

He had posted a tweet on his Twitter account minutes before his assassination, talking about the causes of the divisions in Iraq.

The Iraqi divisions were confirmed by:
1- Define the quotas that the occupation brought in, “Shiites, Sunnis, Kurds, Turkmen, minorities,” which is the essence of Iraq in components.
2- The dominant parties, “Shi’ite, Sunni, Kurdish, Turkmen…” that wanted to assert their gains through division.
3- Religious parties that replaced partisan rivalry with sectarianism.

Condemnation and anger

For his part, Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazimi vowed to pursue the killers of al-Hashemi, and said in a statement that he would not allow the assassinations to return to the Iraqi scene again.

As for the Speaker of the Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi, he called on the security authorities to work to uncover the parties that assassinated Hashemi and announce them to the public quickly.

Meanwhile, Iraqis, by branding "Hisham al-Hashemi", the leader of social media platforms, have demanded that Al-Kazemi’s government be held accountable for the killers and the rule of law.

Some commentators considered that the assassination of Hashemi, whom they described as close to the Al-Kazemi government, was an explicit threat to the state.

Also, Iraqi ambassadors and parliamentarians published writings on the communication platforms to express their regret and condemn the assassination of Hashemi.

It hurt and hurt me to hear the news of the death of Hisham al-Hashemi. Iraq has lost one of its best brave thinkers.

These attacks cannot continue, as the Iraqi government and the support of the international community must hold perpetrators accountable pic.twitter.com/4XxeA7NV7v
