Akita City announced that eight people, six members of the basketball club of JR East Akita Branch in the city and two members of the family, were newly confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus. Akita City is classified as a cluster of infected people. This is the first cluster in the prefecture. The number of people confirmed to be infected in Akita Prefecture is now 26.
