Munich (dpa) - The Free Voters have warned of an "endless lockdown" and called for a scientific review of the infection protection measures to combat corona.

Instead of "extending the partial lockdown beyond November 30" endlessly without perspective based only on the 50s incidence, there should soon be an "opening up according to a sense of proportion", they demanded at their national board meeting in Koblenz.

The party leader and Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs, Hubert Aiwanger, said on Saturday: "At Christmas, families should be able to go out to dinner." If the catering industry were to be withdrawn from December business, taxpayers would again have to pay tens of billions of euros as aid, he said. The Chancellor and the Prime Ministers would also have to weigh this up when discussing further action on Wednesday.
