New alleged racist insults against black England national players increase the pressure on the Hungarian Football Association.
The world governing body FIFA announced on Friday "appropriate measures" as soon as the report from the World Cup qualifier between Hungary and England is available.
The Hungarian association is threatened with severe punishment.
The British FA and Prime Minister Boris Johnson had previously called for an investigation.
According to matching British media reports, the Dortmund Jew Bellingham and Raheem Sterling from Manchester City were racially insulted in their 4-0 victory in the World Cup qualifying in Budapest on Thursday evening. Some spectators are said to have made monkey noises in the direction of the two black professionals during the game. Hungary had been sentenced to play its next two UEFA home games without spectators for discriminatory behavior by its fans at the European Championship games in the summer. "I urge FIFA to take tough action against those responsible to ensure that this type of shameful behavior is finally removed from the game," Johnson tweeted. “It is completely unacceptable that England players were racially insulted in Hungary last night.” National coach Gareth Southgate also criticized the incidents as “unacceptable”.
"Although some people are stuck in their mindsets and prejudices, they will end up being the dinosaurs as the world modernizes," said Southgate.
