A 31-year-old man was fatally hit by a boat in September 2019 while training for long-distance swimming across Lake Bourget (Savoie).

Two and a half years later, in April 2022, the investigation into this homicide with hit and run was finally closed.

The parents of the victim reacted, reports France 3 Auvergne Rhône-Alpes.

They therefore invited anyone with information about this accident to contact them.

They have in mind in particular the potential other passengers of the boat.

The relatives in particular appealed to the driver, in the hope that he would surrender in order to relieve his conscience.

A buoy and clear visibility

Despite several witnesses questioned, the pilot could not indeed be found.

The investigation showed that he must have realized that he had hit a swimmer.

The victim was equipped with a towed buoy and was swimming that day in clear weather.

The investigation could be reopened if new elements were to appear.
