Bayreuth (dpa / lby) - Victims of terrorist attacks and their relatives can now contact an advice line.

The hotline is available around the clock and is offered by the federal victim commissioner together with the states of Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Berlin, Rhineland-Palatinate and Schleswig-Holstein, as a spokesman for the Bavarian Family and Social Center in Bayreuth announced on Tuesday.

Other countries also wanted to participate in the future.

The contact person for victims of terrorism in Bavaria, Erwin Mager, said that after a terrorist act it was particularly important for those affected that quick and unbureaucratic help was available “from a single source”.

The counseling phone is switched on after an attack and is then manned around the clock by experienced trauma experts.

The hotline can be reached on 0800 000 9546.
