NTT DoCoMo announced that it will deploy high-speed, large-capacity communication 5G to all cities, wards, towns and villages by March 2024, aiming for a population coverage rate of 90%.

The three major mobile phone companies have started the 5G service, which is characterized by high speed and large capacity, and are proceeding with the development of base stations.

Of these, NTT DoCoMo announced that it will accelerate the development of base stations, expand the area to all municipalities nationwide by March 2024, and aim for a population coverage rate of 90%.

Previously, we had set a goal of 80% at the same time, but we have raised the goal.

In the case of NTT DoCoMo, the frequency dedicated to 5G is the center, and we will accelerate the development by diverting a part of the frequency currently used in 4G.

On the other hand, in the development of other major 5G, there are many areas where 4G frequencies are diverted, so the time to aim for a population coverage rate of 90% is earlier

than DoCoMo

. It is expected to be achieved by this spring.
