Abu Dhabi Tourism intends to unveil initiatives during the next summer and winter seasons

The Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi has confirmed its participation in the 28th edition of the Travel Market Expo 2021.

And it stated in a statement yesterday that it will reveal during the exhibition its plans to resume tourism activities in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, in addition to the campaigns and initiatives that are preparing to launch during the next summer and winter seasons.

The executive director of the tourism and marketing sector in the department, Ali Hassan Al-Shaiba, said, "The exhibition is an opportunity to communicate with the leaders of travel and tourism in the region, and to discuss new cooperation opportunities to revitalize the tourism sector, and achieve a full recovery."

He added: “Our team in the department has made unremitting efforts throughout the past period, through continuous work, to launch initiatives that had the most prominent role in revitalizing the tourism sector in the emirate, while ensuring the health and safety of residents and visitors, while we are preparing to launch our new strategy, coinciding with the welcome of more. From visitors from additional destinations in the near future, we are excited to share our plans and agenda with the travel and tourism leaders, and the media, during the exhibition activities.

The department pointed out that the participation comes as a continuation of the efforts made to revitalize the tourism sector, and based on its commitment to support its local partners, as well as gaining the confidence of investors and tourists in the region at the global level, through a series of innovative initiatives launched during the last period, including the safety certificate program "Go Safe", which ensures that hotels, facilities and tourist destinations adhere to the highest international health and safety standards.

The exhibition will witness the first appearance of the airline "Wizz Air" as a strategic partner, along with the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi.

The department clarified that despite the circumstances imposed by the "Covid-19" pandemic, Abu Dhabi has taken advanced steps towards enriching its tourism offerings. Last year, it witnessed the opening of a number of new projects, most notably the Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island, Al Hudayriat entertainment district, and the upcoming project.
