The delta variant is slowly taking over from the alpha variant in Östergötland, according to Karin Festin, assistant infection control doctor in the Östergötland Region.
At present, it has been possible to confirm 35 cases in the region, with the majority of cases being confirmed in late June and early July.
However, Karin Festin points out in an email to SVT Nyheter Öst that there will be new cases of delta after which the sequencing will be completed and that the figure may therefore soon change again.
