Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas called on Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to support the Palestinian approach to achieve internal reconciliation and go to elections, while the King of Bahrain stressed that establishing relations with Israel is not against anyone.

The Palestinian request came during a phone call in which Abbas presented the Turkish president in the form of the dialogues that are currently taking place between the National Liberation Movement (Fatah) and the Islamic Resistance (Hamas) and the Palestinian factions, according to what was agreed upon at the meeting of the General Secretaries of the Palestinian factions, and everyone's insistence on the unity of the position, With the aim of achieving reconciliation and going to elections.

During the call, the Palestinian President requested Turkey's support in this direction, as well as the provision of observers from Turkey within the framework of international observers, to supervise the elections.

Also during the call, the Palestinian President thanked his Turkish counterpart for Turkey's stances in support of Palestine and its just cause, and the contacts that President Erdogan made with the presidents of Serbia and Kosovo to urge them not to open embassies or offices for them in Jerusalem.

On Monday, Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh said that the United States of America is besieging the Palestinian leadership, politically, economically and financially.

Bahrain Agreement

For his part, Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa said on Monday that Bahrain’s move to establish relations with Israel is not directed against any entity or forces, but rather aims to achieve a comprehensive peace in the Middle East.

King Hamad, in a cabinet statement published by the official Bahrain News Agency, affirmed Bahrain's support for the Palestinians and the Arab Peace Initiative proposed in 2002, which offered Israel to establish normal relations in exchange for an agreement to establish a state for the Palestinians and the complete withdrawal of Israel from the territories it occupied in the 1967 war.

The agency quoted the King of Bahrain as saying, "Tolerance and coexistence constitute one of the most important features of our authentic Bahraini identity ... Our steps towards peace and prosperity are not directed against any entity or forces, but are in the interest of everyone and aim at good neighborliness and work for it."

Bahrain and the UAE became the first two Arab countries to establish normal relations with Israel in a quarter of a century without reaching a solution to the Israeli conflict with the Palestinians, in a strategic re-arrangement of the countries of the Middle East against Iran.

The agreement called for the establishment of "full diplomatic relations," but avoided the term normalization.

In this context, the Israeli media revealed that Tel Aviv has run an interest office in Manama for more than 10 years.

The state broadcaster said that Israel is operating this office to promote economic and political steps in the region.

She added that the Israeli Foreign Ministry plans to establish an embassy in the Bahraini capital, Manama, in the future, on the basis of this representation, in light of the official normalization between the two countries.

On September 15, the UAE and Bahrain signed two normalization agreements with Israel at the White House, under the auspices of US President Donald Trump, ignoring the state of anger in Arab popular circles.

For its part, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) considered that the international community, represented by the United Nations, "has failed to protect the Palestinians from the aggression, terror and racism they face from the brutal Zionist occupation."

The movement said in a statement to a member of the Movement’s International Relations Office, Bassem Naeem, that the world celebrates the International Day of Peace (September 21 of each year), and that the movement affirms on this occasion that the Palestinian people are among the peoples of the earth who love peace and promote it among all human beings.

He pointed out that "our (Palestinian) people have been deprived of living in peace in their homeland for 7 decades. Indeed, all kinds of terrorism and racism are being practiced on them from a brutal Zionist occupation."
