The individual, who was "armed with a long knife" according to Pierre Oliver, the mayor of the 2nd arrondissement, was arrested near the Perrache station.
"The man was strolling in the rue Victor Hugo (2nd) a knife in his hand", specifies the parquet of Lyon.

For the time being, few elements have been officially communicated.
The man was taken into police custody and the investigation was entrusted to the Lyon judicial police.
There is nothing to confirm that the arrest has a link with the terrorist attack that occurred this Thursday morning in Nice.
