“A year ago I helped Fabio Jakobsen stay alive.
Today I helped him win.
The tribute is signed Florian Senechal, his partner at the Deceuninck-Quick Step.
On Wednesday, he led his Belgian teammate to success on the second stage of the Tour de Wallonie.

On August 5, 2020, Florian Senechal was also there to help Jakobsen during a sprint on the Tour of Poland.
But the Belgian finished in the barriers, pushed by Dylan Groenewegen.
A fall that had almost cost him his life and kept him away from the competition until April.
“Irony” of fate: Dylan Groenewegen had won the first stage of the Tour de Wallonie, his first victory since the end of his nine-month suspension, following his gesture in Poland.
The Dutchman is leader of the general, ahead of Fabio Jakobsen.
