This Friday, a worker was killed on a construction site in Marquette-lez-Lille, in the North, we learned from the firefighters. The accident occurred in the middle of the day and the emergency services could not do anything to save the victim.

It was around 12:30 p.m. that the tragedy took place, on the rehabilitation site of the Grands Moulins de Paris, an old industrial wasteland being transformed into homes. According to firefighters, a 70 kg concrete slab fell from a height of about 10 m onto a worker who was working near the building.

The victim died instantly

The victim, a 30-year-old man employed by a company working on the Rabot Dutilleul site, received the concrete slab on his head. He died instantly and the emergency services could not do anything to try to save him.

The site was stopped for the day and an investigation was opened to determine the circumstances of this dramatic accident at work.
