A serious road accident occurred this Sunday at the beginning of the afternoon in the town of Vitré, north east of Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine).
A head-on collision occurred between two cars traveling on the D34 road between Vitré and La Chapelle-Erbrée.
Six people were injured, two of them seriously.
A 27-year-old woman was seriously injured and transported in absolute urgency to the CHU Pontchaillou by the SMUR helicopter.
A 5-month-old child, who could be her baby, was also seriously injured.
He was transported by road to the South Hospital.
Four other people were injured in the accident: a one-year-old child, another 27-year-old woman and two men in their thirties.
The circumstances of the tragedy are unknown at this time.
About twenty firefighters, gendarmes and a team from the SMUR were present on the scene.
