A Syrian in France kills his father and injures his five brothers

A 24-year-old Syrian man suffering from mental illness stabbed his 57-year-old father to death, Sunday, in Metz in eastern France, according to identical sources.

"A young man killed his father with a knife, in a rather heavy psychological framework," the district's governor told AFP, referring to a "family tragedy."

For its part, the prosecutor in charge of the investigation explained that "a stabbing murder occurred last night in Metz," adding that "investigations are still ongoing."

Police sources indicated that the man "killed his father with a knife" before his "brothers were able to control him."

The firefighters took care of the five brothers of the offender because they were injured.

The perpetrator was placed in police custody, knowing that he suffers from schizophrenia.
