A study reveals the relationship between computer screens and the onset of premature aging

D.A.

A recent study, conducted by researchers affiliated with the Dutch giant "Unilever", revealed that the computer or mobile phone screen throughout the week can cause premature aging of the skin.

The researchers stated that the risk of light emitted from computer and smartphone screens is equivalent to the risk of standing outside in the sun without protection.

According to (The Daily Mail), scientists working for "Unilever" studied the effects of "blue light" emitted from electronic devices on the skin and found that it could cause premature aging.

The study, conducted by researchers at the Dutch giant in the field of consumer goods, found that 60% of people now spend more than six hours a day in front of a digital device that emits a blue light.

They found that exposure to blue light for five days over at least six hours a day can have the same effect on the skin as spending 25 minutes in the sun without a protective cream.

To combat the worst effects of exposure to blue light, experts recommend taking breaks from the screen and using skin creams that contain antioxidants.

Researchers still don't know the full effects of long-term exposure to blue light on the skin, but a number of studies, including this one, are trying to find out.

Researchers say it is already known that exposure to blue light can cause hyperpigmentation and premature aging, but the exact amount of exposure is unclear.

The study found that two out of three people are unaware of the effect of blue light on their skin.

The researchers explained that the blue light emitted from screens not only affects the skin, but can also disturb our biological clocks.

Blue light can penetrate the skin much deeper than UV rays from the sun, and pass through the epidermis and dermis to the subcutaneous layer.
