A sheep was sentenced to 3 years in prison for killing an elderly woman in South Sudan

A civil court in Rumbek, South Sudan, on Wednesday sentenced a sheep to three years in prison and imposed a fine of 5 cows on the owner of the sheep.

The details of the case, according to Al-Sudan Al-Youm newspaper, are that the police in the eastern Rumbek County of Lakes State in South Sudan arrested a sheep that killed an elderly woman during the last weekend, and it is said that the sheep attacked the woman and butted her on her chest several times, which led to her death.


According to the customary laws of the Lakes State, any pet that killed a person is awarded as compensation to the family of the deceased.
