The investigation authorities in Egypt ordered the release of the owner of the crocodile, who sparked a state of panic among the people in the Menoufia governorate, after escaping from him in the Arab Canal of the village of Kakar Al-Masilha in the city of Shebin Al-Kom. He was arrested after causing panic among the residents.

According to what the Egyptian newspaper “Al-Watan” quoted security sources as saying, the accused indicated in the investigations that he had bought the crocodile from the Sayeda Aisha area in Cairo, because he loves raising this type of animal, and he took it out of his home and during his training he jumped from it in the canal, and he could not find it. Accordingly, he pointed out that it was one of the women in the village who reported the presence of a crocodile in one of the canals in the village.

In addition, the Directorate of Veterinary Medicine in Menoufia said that the crocodile was seized and its size was very small, with a length of only 60 centimeters, stressing that all concerned agencies were looking in every way to find out how to extract the crocodile from the canal, in order to preserve the safety of citizens.

The news of the crocodile's escape was widely circulated on social media platforms, and the concerned authorities succeeded in extracting the crocodile from the canal and it was handed over to the Reserves Sector of the Ministry of Environment in preparation for its delivery to the Giza Zoo.
