A fight plan aimed at strengthening the repression of hateful content on social networks was signed on Tuesday by the prefecture of Yvelines, the academy of Versailles (Yvelines) and the prosecutor's office of Versailles.
The 22 measures aim to raise awareness among the general public about the use and dangers of online communication spaces, explains BFMTV.
Improving prevention at school
This "departmental plan to combat racism, anti-Semitism and anti-LGBT hatred" provides in particular for improving the orientation of victims and witnesses.
The organization of citizenship courses for reference student networks in schools is also planned against harassment and discrimination.
Prevention should be reinforced from primary school onwards.
The signatories also wish to emphasize the fight against online anonymity.
In October 2020, Yvelines was the scene of the assassination of Samuel Paty, a history teacher beheaded after a wave of accusations on social networks.
