CLUB OF MOZAMBIQUE, the Mozambican club of CLUB OF MOZAMBIQUE, has stated that the company, which has been operating the port of Beira in Mozambique since 1998, has never been notified of the operation of a vessel containing 2750 tons of ammonium nitrate bound for Mozambique.

Last Tuesday, the Lebanese capital spent a bloody night, as a result of a huge explosion in the port of Beirut. Initial estimates said that it was caused by a warehouse explosion that contained 2750 tons of ammonium nitrate, a highly explosive material, which also killed more than 150 people, apart from thousands of wounded and the displacement of about 300 One thousand Beirut residents whose homes were cracked or badly damaged.

Antonio Libombo, the company's deputy chief executive, explained last Wednesday that they usually are notified before receiving any ship, but in the case of the ship "Roussos" they never received any notification.

The site pointed to what was published by external media that "Roussos" based on the ship's records and port schedules, was heading to Mozambique, after it docked in the port of Beirut due to mechanical problems in 2013.

He said they had contacted the Mozambican Ministry of Transport and Communications, which also said that it had not received ship notification of these characteristics that year.
