Media reports revealed today, Monday, that the Polish Robert Lewandowski, the Bayern Munich star, has reached an agreement with Barcelona to join the Catalan team on a 3-year contract.
According to reports, Lewandowski, 34, whose contract with the Bavarian club expires in the summer of 2023, told Bayern Munich officials his desire to join the Catalan club.
And the Polish channel "Sport TVB" reported that "Leva" informed the club's CEO and legendary goalkeeper Oliver Kahn that he plans to leave the club and agreed on personal terms with Barcelona.
The Polish channel added that "all the terms of the contract were agreed upon", and that the Bavarian team was already preparing for life without the Polish international.

There does not appear to be a reason why Bayern should not want to sign a new contract with Lewandowski, especially as he has scored 46 goals in 40 games in all competitions this season.
Although the Polish report notes that Bayern authorities are "reluctant" to start talks on a new deal, and that the striker's representatives are "disappointed" by the club's reluctance.
If the deal goes through, Lewandowski will become the first Polish player ever to represent Barcelona.
The Catalan giant seems determined to sign in the summer Mercato, although it may be difficult to sign Lewandowski a year before the end of his contract.
The Blaugrana has made impressive progress since club legend Xavi Hernandez replaced Dutchman Ronald Koeman.

Under Xavi's management, Barca contracted - in the winter transfer period - with Ferran Torres from Manchester City and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who ended his contract with Arsenal in a friendly manner.
And the Spanish newspaper "Sport" reported last week that Lewandowski would "do his best" to join Barcelona, and that the Spanish team could offer Sergino Dest in return, which is a demand for the Bundesliga champions.

In the eight seasons he spent at the club, Lewandowski became one of its greatest ever players, and ranks second behind legend Gerd Muller in Bayern's all-time top scorer.
In total, Lewandowski has scored 340 goals in 369 matches since joining the club from rivals Borussia Dortmund - for free - in 2014.
"He is calm and open to everything, and it is important for me to be able to focus this season," Lewandowski said in a television interview.
